Ashley & Moira united their souls under the oath of love, friendship, and nature on this glorious September day at the Wild Carrot in St. Louis, MO. They got ready together under the roof of their own home near Lafayette Square surrounded by their family and friends…. and of course their dogs Georgia and Lila! The moments spent here were slow, intentional, and oh so full of love. I hope you can feel these images in the way that the people in the images felt the day- that’s truly all I could ever ask for out of this gallery.
In all of my years of shooting weddings, I don’t think I have ever documented a day like this. There was no shot list, no expectations, no formal wedding party, no formal traditions, but what Ashley and Moira did was live. They decided to be present and live the day as a guest at their own wedding instead of getting lost in the demand that can become wedding photos. I know first hand how much stress couples put on themselves for wedding photography- I get it. I know wedding photos are a big deal. But when you take a minute to let everything go, when you let all of the hard work and planning unfold, when you breathe in your surrounds and soak in the love, the magic will create itself. My job is to create truthful images that tell a story of you and your best people on the BEST day. You’ll be so surprised what can happen when you let the need of control go, and embrace the chaos that is life on wedding day!
After Ashley and Moira got ready in their home, they shared an intimate first look, and then on we went to do family photos and couple portraits at Lafayette Square Park in St. Louis, MO! After family photos the ladies shared a drink at their favorite restaurant called Louie out in Clayton, MO! Then the excitement begun as we ventured over to the ceremony and reception venue, Wild Carrot! Upon getting to the venue you could tell that the wedding planner (Coda’s Events) really put a lot of work into making the vision come to life! All of the details really came together and the ladies both shed some tears over the beauty! I would have to say Wild Carrot is my all time favorite wedding venue- I myself even almost got married there, but decided to get married in the woods at a non wedding venue in Eureka Springs….. more on that later 😛
This wedding at the Wild Carrot was just incredible and there is no other way to describe it. It was everything Ashley and Moira wanted it to be, and I am so happy they get to relive it forever through these images! And now to give their vendors some love <3
